My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Launches Same-Day As Japanese Premiere On Crunchyroll

Fans of My Hero Academia have a major reason to celebrate this spring, as Crunchyroll has officially announced that the highly anticipated prequel series, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, will premiere its English dub on the same day as the original Japanese version starting April 7.

The simultaneous premiere marks a significant moment for international fans, who will be able to dive into the story without waiting weeks for dubbed versions. New episodes will drop every week, with English and other language dubs—Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, and Italian—releasing within 15 minutes after the subtitled Japanese episodes go live.

Set in the same Quirk-filled universe but with a fresh narrative twist, Vigilantes follows Koichi Haimawari, a seemingly average college student who once dreamed of becoming a hero. With 80% of the world’s population possessing superpowers known as Quirks, Koichi’s aspirations are shared by many—but realized by few. After a fateful encounter with the enigmatic vigilante Knuckleduster and the energetic Pop☆Step, Koichi is drawn into the underground world of unauthorized heroics. The series promises action, character depth, and a new lens through which fans can explore the My Hero Academia universe.

Where to Watch: Exclusively on Crunchyroll, with episodes airing at 8:15 AM PT each week.

As an added bonus, in celebration of My Hero Academia Season 7’s nomination for Best Continuing Series at the Anime Awards, the entire original series is now available to stream for free with ads on Crunchyroll. Fans can also check out other nominated anime available via AVOD (Ad-Supported Video on Demand) until May 27.

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes

Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the franchise, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes offers a bold new take on heroism, justice, and what it means to stand up in a world where not everyone is chosen to wear the cape.
