Robert Pattinson Says He’ll Be An Old Batman By The Time The Batman Part 2 Comes Out

In a recent interview Robert Pattinson says, probably jokingly, he’ll be an old Batman by the time The Batman Part 2 comes out. Pattinson was cast as a young Batman to portray The Dark Knight in his early days as a crime fighter. However, it has been three years already since the release of The Batman. The sequel hasn’t begun filming yet. Though, as Pattinson said recently in another interview we covered, he does expect it to begin filming by the end of this year.

“I think at the end of the year? And I know what it’s about but I can’t tell anyone, but it’s like, it’s very cool. It’s very exciting.”

However, in a more recent interview with Hero Magazine, Pattinson, now 38, makes fun of his advancing age.

Asked by the magazine if filming was starting soon on Part 2?

“I f***ing hope so,” the actor replied with a laugh. “I started out as young Batman and I’m going to be f***ing old Batman by the sequel.”

Pattinson will be 39 in May. I’d say he’s definitely now of the right age to play Batman in his peak years. There was also talk of Pattinson not being old enough to play the Batman that is planned for the DCU. Damian Wayne playing Robin would suggest a middle-aged Batman. However, by the time The Brave and the Bold films, Pattinson will be in his forties.

Of course even then it has just been recently denied there are any plans to merge the movie Batman’s. So for now we can only look forward to seeing what The Batman Part 2 has in store for Pattinson. Of course, there’s the inevitable Part 3 somewhere down the line. Maybe a decade?
