Arcade Fire announce new LP ‘Pink Elephant,’ share “Year of the Snake”

Arcade Fire have continued playing shows after frontman Win Butler was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple people in 2022 (he denies the allegations). More recently, they began teasing a new album, and now they’ve announced Pink Elephant, due out on May 9 via Columbia. It was produced by Butler, Régine Chassagne and Daniel Lanois, and you can see the cover art and tracklist below.

The first single is “Year of the Snake,” which has vocals and bass from Chassagne, and drums from Butler. Watch the video, directed by David Wilson, below.

According to a press release, “in the coming days,” the band “will announce special gigs in select cities where the band will perform Pink Elephant in its entirety prior to its release.”
