A surprisingly large number of TV premiere dates have been announced in the past day or so, here’s a breakdown of the news.
HBO has confirmed the third season of its period drama “The Gilded Age” will release on the network sometime in June. The eight episode run sees the Russells standing poised to take their place at the head of society.
FX has set a Wednesday, July 9th date for the Season 17 premiere of “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” with the first two episodes to screen on that day. The new season includes a new “Abbott Elementary” crossover. In it, the gang volunteers at the Philadelphia elementary school where they plan to audition kids for a boy band.
Starz has set an August 8th premiere for “Outlander: Blood of My Blood,” the new spin-off series that serves as a prequel to the main show. The new series follows two parallel love stories in different time periods – Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine), and Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy).
Paramount+ has confirmed a Fall release window for “NCIS: Tony & Ziva,” the upcoming European-set NCIS spinoff series starring Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo. The series has a ten-episode order and will follow Tony (Weatherly) and Ziva (de Pablo) as they find themselves on the run across the Old Continent.
Finally, Kevin Costner has set a May 26th start date for “The West,” his History Channel docuseries about the American West. The series will debut with back-to-back episodes followed by a special presentation of Episode 3 on May 27th. The eight-episode documentary series will tell the history of the American West through a wide range of conflicts.
