Some new Barside Buzz claims that Breaking Bad star Jesse Plemons is in talks to play a villain in Shawn Levy’s Star Wars film. We know Levy’s Star Wars film will be the next to shoot in that franchise. We also have reports that Ryan Gosling is in talks to play the lead role in the film. However, we know not much else, at all.
This casting news comes from Daniel RPK on his Patreon. Plemons is a good actor, Breaking Bad aside, Plemons also recently appeared in Civil War. It would be fair to say the guy has a bit of a villainous look. Since he can also back that up in the acting department, he seems like a solid choice.
Of course, a choice for what kind of role, we have no idea? We have no solid timeframe for Levy’s movie and we have zero plot details. Plemons could be playing an Imperial, a Warlord, a pirate or even a Sith? One would guess this would perhaps be the main villain role in the film, but we don’t even know that.

All we can really say, is that the film is coming and casting has begun. We may therefore start to get a few more details as time progresses. One scooper I don’t normally cover currently, MTTSH also says that Jodie Comer is in talks. However, Comer is in talks for every film if you believe all the rumors, so pinch of salt there. In fact, pinch of salt for any rumor, but an extra sprinkle on the Comer part.
Comer has also actually appeared in a Star Wars film before. In The Rise of Skywalker Comer played Rey’s mother. However, she’s on screen for like one shot, so I doubt it’s relevant.
As for Plemons, let’s wait and see. If a deal is getting close I imagine the trades will get wind of it also.
