After toiling in the Steam public test build since last month, Ken Kaneki and “Tokyo Ghoul” are now available in Dead by Daylight across all platforms. Sleek, stylish, and swift, The Ghoul has been drawn into The Fog ready to hunt down Survivors with an agile and ferocious blend of gameplay that brings unique new elements to The Entity’s Realm.
If you were looking for a high-mobility Killer to play as in Dead by Daylight, Ken Kaneki aka The Ghoul looks to fit that bill. With the ability to navigate great distances in a flash, strike quickly, and shred flesh with gusto, The Ghoul delivers fun, balanced action for Killers, Survivors, veterans, and newcomers alike.
On the surface Kaneki may seem like little more than a diminutive university student with an unsettling appearance. However, once four Kagune tentacles erupt from his back to begin launching him around the Map, The Ghoul suddenly takes up more space in a Trial than initially seemed possible. His Power, One-Eyed Terror, is the latest reason Survivors will need to keep their heads on a swivel.
Using the Special Ability: Kagune Leap, The Ghoul can charge and launch his tentacles to attach to a vertical surface and propel himself forward. He can chain up to two leaps together consecutively, traversing downed Pallets and vault locations in the process. If that second leap happens to be into a healthy Survivor, the target will incur damage and receive Deep Wounds, while also being afflicted with the Kagune Mark, sending The Ghoul into Enraged Mode. Here, the fun can really begin.
In control of The Ghoul, players will feel like they can be everywhere at once, and with an active Enraged Mode adding a third consecutive leap and increasing vault speed when launching their Kagune at Survivors, those feelings of power and presence only continue to grow.
Complimenting The Ghoul’s speedy skillset are an assortment of Perks designed to ratchet up the pressure during a match:
- Hex: Nothing But Misery: Damage a number of Survivors to turn a Dull Totem into a Hex: Totem. While the Hex is active, Survivors will become briefly Hindered when hit with a Basic Attack.
- Forever Entwined: Whenever a Survivor takes damage, you gain 1 Token. For each Token, increase the speed you pick up, drop, and Hook Survivors.
- None Are Free: When you Hook a Survivor for the first time, gain 1 token, up to 4. When all Generators are completed, for each token, all Windows and upright Pallets are blocked for a duration.
The Ghoul also includes brand new recordings from actor Natsuki Hanae who plays Kaneki in the anime series, helping guarantee this latest Chapter will be a feast for both Tokyo Ghoul and Dead by Daylight fans.
Dead by Daylight is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Windows Store.
