Chase and IHG have launched a conversion offer from Ultimate Rewards to IHG One Rewards points, with 80% bonus points through April 30, 2024.

The Chase to IHG conversion is done at a 1:1 ratio, which is bonused by 80%, making it 1 Chase point to 1.8 IHG for the duration of the offer.

Chase UR to IHG One Rewards conversion ratio is 1:1.

During this offer, 1,000 Chase UR points converted to IHG One Rewards points would become 1,800 points.

Conclusion

You always have to remember that not all points and miles are equal.

Chase Ultimate Rewards points are worth 1.5 US cents each when used towards paid flights and hotels through their own travel agency. You can also convert them to miles and points with many partners.

You can frequently buy IHG One Rewards points at 0.5 US cents each, and at the 80% bonus, you would get 0.9 US cents out of Chase point, which is not a good deal.

If IHG would bonus these conversions between 150% and 200%, they would make sense.
