New Trailers: Together, Animals, Banquet, Toxic

A couple of key trailer releases today. First up, IFC Films and Shudder have released the teaser trailer for Sean Byrne’s horror thriller “Dangerous Animals” which hits cinemas on June 6th.

In the film, a female rebellious surfer is abducted by a shark-obsessed and psychotic serial killer (Courtney) and held captive on his boat. She must figure out how to escape before he carries out a ritualistic feeding to the sharks below.

Next, Dave Franco and Alison Brie star in the Michael Shanks-directed body horror meets relationship drama “Together” which hits cinemas on August 1st. Neon is handling distribution.

It follows a long-term couple who find themselves at a crossroads as they move to the country. A nightmarish encounter with a mysterious, unnatural force threatens to corrupt their lives, their love and their flesh.

Then, Bleecker Street has released the trailer for its romantic comedy remake “The Wedding Banquet” opening nationwide on April 18th. Andrew Ahn (“Spa Night,” “Fire Island”) helmed the film and co-write it with James Schamus based on the 1993 Ang Lee film.

The story follows two queer couples as they get involved in a big elaborate lie that will require them to deceive a rich South Korean grandmother. Lily Gladstone, Kelly Marie Tran, Bowen Yang, Han Gi-chan, Joan Chen as May, and Oscar winner Youn Yuh-jung co-star.

Finally there’s the teaser for Macon Blair’s remake of “The Toxic Avenger” which is finally hitting cinemas in August. Peter Dinklage, Jacob Tremblay, Taylour Paige, Julia Davis, Jonny Coyne, Elijah Wood, and Kevin Bacon co-star.

Dinklage plays a struggling everyman-janitor named Winston Gooze who is transformed by a horrible toxic accident into a new evolution of hero: The Toxic Avenger! Using super-human strength, he must save his son and stop a ruthless, power-hungry corporate tyrant.
