Nightdive is making your summer more cyberpunk with the announcement that their long-awaited System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will be coming to PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG.com, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and the and Nintendo Switch on June 26. Pre-orders on PC are now open, with a 10% discount.

The announcement at the Future Games Show also coincided with a new trailer, which shows off the remaster’s revamped graphics.

System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster brings the beloved 1999 PC game to consoles for the first time. Nightdive Studios has rebuilt System Shock 2 for modern platforms using its proprietary KEX Engine, offering players the definitive experience with improved visuals, enhanced gameplay, improved performance, cross-play co-op multiplayer, mod support, and more. Every aspect of the game has been refined to provide the best possible experience for new fans as well as veterans.

System Shock 2 is set 42 years after the events of the first System Shock. Players assume the role of a cybernetically-enhanced soldier who awakes from cryo-sleep aboard the Von Braun, an experimental FTL starship that had responded to a distress signal from the planet Tau Ceti V. Mysterious eggs were recovered from the planet, which hatched and infected the crew, assimilating them into an alien communion known as “The Many”. You must now find a way to stop The Many and escape.
