New Details On “Buffy” Revival Main Roles

An apparent casting call for young faces to star in the upcoming “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” semi-reboot on Hulu has gone out.

Scooper DanielRPK appears to have obtained a copy of the casting call and confirms rumors that star Sarah Michelle Gellar’s role as Buffy Summers will be taking on a mentor-type role this time.

The main slayer here will be Nova, a teenager whom Buffy will take on as a trainee and is described as a “determined and fearless high school vampire hunter”.

The casting call is looking for actual teens or actors in their twenties for all teenage roles. Ethnicity for all characters is open.

Other characters include Nova’s dedicated photojournalist father Abe, the wealthy and awkwardly nerdy Hugo, Nova’s best friend and lore-loving Gracie, the confident jock Cole, and the school librarianMr. Burke who becomes a vampire at some point.

Also being cast is a key supporting role named Mia dubbed a ‘social media-obsessed student’ who gets caught up in the chaos. It’s not clear if any other cast members from the original show would return.

The series is being directed by Oscar winner Chloé Zhao along with having “Poker Face” co-showrunners Nora & Lilla Zuckerman as writers, and longtime television executive Gail Berman as producer.
