Listen to Kyle Mooney’s debut music album ‘The Real Me’
“I promise this is art that’s earnestly made,” the former SNL cast member says.

Music has always been a big part of Kyle Mooney‘s comedy, including millenium-era-influenced originals in his taped SNL skits or on his animated Netflix series Saturday Morning All Star Hits! Now Kyle has put out his first album of original music.
Released under the name Kyle M with a cover that looks like a singer-songwriter album from 1978, The Real Me is out now via Peanut Butter Wolf’s Stones Throw Records. At least according to the credits provided to streaming services, Kyle wrote and recorded The Real Me himself, and it sounds like it, ranging from acoustic folk to garage band genre experiments. It’s almost like a record someone might have thrown up on Bandcamp, not released on the same label as Sudan Archives, NxWorries and Mild High Club.
You can watch a documentary short about The Real Me where Kyle talks about music being his first love before visiting his childhood home in San Diego. “I promise this is art that’s earnestly made,” Kyle says into the camera, talking about his album, but the video definitely has jokes. You can watch that and listen to the album below.
