Finn Jones Wants Another “Iron Fist” Chance

Marvel Studios’ “Daredevil: Born Again” has effectively resurrected its Marvel Netflix series, finally confirming those shows as part of the MCU continuity.

That has led to the obvious question as to which other characters might return from the previous shows, with Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones the most likely candidate.

On the other end of the scale though is Finn Jones’ Danny Rand/Iron Fist. The English actor was in his late twenties when he took on the role across the two seasons of his own show along with “The Defenders” mini-series.

That show was easily the most widely panned of the Netflix Marvel shows, Jones in particular found himself the target of a lot of backlash from his skin color (despite the character actually being white) to his lack of muscle tone for a character perceived as a fighter, and his overall performance along with several others in the cast – though Jessica Henwick’s Colleen Wing and Simone Missick’s Misty Knight were well-received.

Jones recently appeared at the LaConve anime convention in Mexico (via IGN and says that he hopes he gets the opportunity:

“[There’s a] willingness for the fans to see that happen. There’s a lot of willingness for the fans to see that not happen as well. I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it. My response to that is like, give me a f—ing chance, man. I’m here and I’m ready. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen.”

The actor, now 37, posted photos of himself on Instagram in late 2023 looking decidedly more physically ripped than he was on the original show.

The comments follow on from Marvel’s Brad Winderbaum saying the opportunity of bringing back Marvel Netflix characters is “creatively extremely exciting” and something they are “very much exploring”.
