Cynthia Erivo Joins Lionsgate’s Samurai-Tinged Action Thriller KAROSHI
Wicked star Cynthia Erivo is officially set to star in Lionsgate’s upcoming action thriller Karoshi, produced by the action experts at 87Eleven Entertainment. Karoshi is being billed as a corporate thriller with a samurai twist. The film will be written and directed by Takashi Doscher, and it will begin production in June. While details on the plot and Erivo’s role remain tightly under wraps, the involvement of John Wick masterminds Chad Stahelski, Alex Young, and Jason Spitz on the producing side all but guarantees some intense action sequences.Teo Yoo (Past Lives, The Recruit) and Isabel May (1883) are also set to star.Erivo is also set to play a set of sextuplets in Season 2 of Peacock’s Poker Face, and she just dropped her new single “Replay” ahead of her upcoming album, and will be starring as Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar at the Hollywood Bowl from August 1-3.The actress is also currently filming Gina Prince-Bythewood’s adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s Children of Blood and Bone.
