St. Vincent has released a new single set to feature in the upcoming black comedy Death Of A Unicorn, starring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega.

The sinister synth track will feature on the soundtrack to A24’s new movie, which is released in cinemas in the US today (March 28), and in the UK on April 4.

Alongside the film’s stateside release, St. Vincent has shared ‘DOA’, a high octane track rich in Prince-esque guitar riffs, distorted vocals, and pulsating baselines.

It sees her depart from the heavier, noise-rock elements of her 2024 album ‘All Born Screaming‘ and step into a more dance-oriented realm. “Right as I had stopped bеlieving in miracles/In comes a unicorn right in front of mе,” St. Vincent – real name Annie Clark – sings on the song’s addictive chorus. “Oh, you’re wild, but child you gotta run next to me/You are the ecstasy in the center of the whole world.”

Check out the track, and its trippy visualiser, below.

The film sees father-daughter duo Elliot and Ridley, played by Rudd and Ortega, accidentally hit and kill a unicorn on the way to a weekend retreat. Joining the duo in the comedy are Richard E. Grant, Téa Leoni, Will Poulter, Anthony Carrigan, Sunita Mani, Jessica Hynes, and Steve Park. A trailer for the film dropped last December.

St. Vincent’s involvement comes after she recently announced a new set of UK and European tour dates in the summer.

The run of shows are part of the latest leg of the ‘All Born Screaming‘ tour, named after the musician’s 2024 album, which was released last April. A full list of dates can be viewed here and tickets can be purchased here.

She will also make an appearance at Glastonbury 2025 on Sunday, June 29 alongside the likes of The MaccabeesThe Prodigy and headliner Olivia Rodrigo.

Elsewhere, Annie Clark also recently teamed up with David Byrne and Arcade Fire for a rendition of David Bowie‘s ‘Heroes’ during the 50th-anniversary celebrations of Saturday Night Live.

Last month, the singer-songwriter picked up three awards at the 2025 Grammy Awards, including Best Alternative Music Album for ‘All Born Screaming’, Best Alternative Music Performance with ‘Flea’ and Best Rock Song for ‘Broken Man’.

She also revealed that she is married and has a daughter at the ceremony.

NME caught St. Vincent’s show at London’s Royal Albert Hall last June. It earned a four-star review: “Throughout the pulverising 90-minute set, Clark wields her guitar like a weapon and attacks the microphone with a restless urgency.

“Big, cathartic breakdowns teeter on the edge of chaos, but Clark and her four-piece band never let things fall apart completely. It’s gorgeous to watch, but it demands participation as well. With music this charged, there’s simply no standing on the sidelines.”

In another four-star review, this time for the ‘All Born Screaming’ albumNME wrote: “The album’s front section is thrashing and lacerating – a dispatch from the abyss – as she revels in morbid imagery that speaks to a period in which she was besieged by loss (true to mercurial form, she’s declined to be drawn on specifics). And then something strange happens. With the melted Bond theme ‘Violent Times’, she ushers the listener through a secret door that leads to a mellower vibe.”
