“Coyote Vs. Acme” Sale Has Finished

Warner Bros. Discovery has reportedly completed the sale of the infamously shelved “Coyote Vs Acme” movie to indie distributor Ketchup Entertainment.

The news comes just under two weeks after it emerged the vaulted film would potentially see the light of day with “The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie” and “Ferrari” distributors Ketchup in talks for a deal at that time.

Obviously those talks worked out very well with Ketchup making the announcement in a press release today that they have obtained worldwide rights to the film which Warners appeared to scrap back in 2013 for an alleged $35 million tax write-off.

Gareth West, CEO of Ketchup Entertainment, said in a statement:

“We’re thrilled to have made a deal with Warner Bros. Pictures to bring this film to audiences worldwide. COYOTE VS. ACME is a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern storytelling, capturing the essence of the beloved Looney Tunes characters while introducing them to a new generation. We believe it will resonate with both longtime fans and newcomers alike.”

The film’s cast includes Will Forte, John Cena, Lana Condor and Tone Bell. In the movie, Looney Tunes character Wile E. Coyote hires an unlucky human attorney (Forte) to sue the ACME Corporation for defective product injury after so many of their products have backfired on him over the years in his pursuit of the Road Runner. Cena plays the head of ACME.

The deal is rumored to be in the $50 million range and the theatrical release will happen in 2026.
