Steve Bannon Predicts Trump Will Run – and Win a 3rd Term – in 2028: ‘We’re Workin’ On It’

A recent poll of CPAC attendees put Vice President J.D. Vance as the front-runner for the Republican nomination in 2028, but Steve Bannon had a much bolder prediction: a third term for Donald Trump.

The right-wing podcaster and former Trump advisor – who came in second in the aforementioned poll – joined Chris Cuomo’s show “Cuomo” on NewsNation Tuesday night, and boldly asserted that Trump would find a way to stay in the White House past a clearly stated constitutional term-limit.

Cuomo remarked that Bannon’s own 12% polling at the latest Conservative Political Action Conference came as a surprise – and asked whether he had any presidential ambitions.

“No,” Bannon said flatly. “I am a firm believer that President Trump will run and win again in 2028. So I’ve already endorsed for President Trump. A man like this comes on once every century. We’ve got him now. He’s on fire. I’m a huge supporter. I want to see him again in 2028.”

Cuomo raised the glaringly obvious point that the 22nd amendment to the U.S. Constitution, passed in 1951 over concentration-of-power concerns following FDR’s fourth term, would prevent such a thing.

“We’re working on it,” Bannon said. “I think we’ll have — I think we’ll have a couple of alternatives. Let’s say that. We’ll see. We’ll see where he’s at … that people will say ‘[what is] the definition of a term-limit.'”

Cuomo chided Bannon for being cryptic, giving him the benefit of the doubt that he meant litigation – “because I don’t want people to listen to our interview and say Bannon is cooking up an insurrection. Bannon is cooking up, you know, I mean — I want — I want people to get a straight take on where your head is. What do you see?”

“We, Chris, as you know, I’ve had — I’ve had great number of long-shots … we’ve had greater long-shots than Trump 2028. And got a lot of stuff we’re working on. We’re not prepared to talk about it publicly, but a couple months, I think we will.”
