Fantastic Four: The First Steps
Sound editor and voice actor Matthew Wood, the voice of General Grievous in the “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith”, will be the one providing the voice of the robot companion H.E.R.B.I.E. in the upcoming Marvel Studios feature “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”.
Director Matt Shakman describes him as “Reed’s right hand in the lab, capable of assisting him on any sort of experiment, always by his side”. On set, the creation was a mix – sometimes a wooden puppet stand-in, sometimes a full animatronic controlled by four people. [Source: Empire]
Elden Ring
Unsurprisingly, a wild report this morning of an “Elden Ring” movie being in the works with filmmaker Alex Garland has been shot down, with The Verge posting an excellent piece on how it originated and how the original report was quickly taken down after it was published.
Whilst those involved in the game have teased there is interest in a film adaptation of that celebrated 2022 video game, there is no talent attached to any such project at this time.
Possum Song
Miles Teller (“The Gorge,” “Top Gun: Maverick”) will lead the fantastical comedy “Possum Song” to be directed by Oscar nominee Greg Kwedar (“Sing Sing”). Isaac Adamson wrote the original screenplay.
Teller plays an overconfident Nashville star who is hiding a dark secret: He stole the songs for his hit debut album. Now, with a new wife and a baby on the way, Eddie must write his follow-up solo or risk losing everything. He soon strikes a dangerous Faustian bargain with a magical possum. [Source: Deadline]
Superman
Filmmaker James Gunn has shared a clip showing off his pet dog Ozu and their reaction to the appearance of Superman’s dog Krypto in the upcoming “Superman” movie. Krypto in the film was 3D-modeled after Ozu. Gunn says: “Every time he sees himself come on screen, he tries to murder himself”. Krypto makes his live-action debut in “Superman” opening July 11th.
