PORTLAND, ME – Underscoring Olympia Hospitality’s commitment and growth in the independent and urban hospitality space, the company announces two new strategic hires to lead operations at its boutique properties in the Boston area – Jayson Goldstein at Beacon Hill Hotel in Boston and Charlotte Kennedy at Harvard Square Hotel in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
“Exceptional talent has always been a cornerstone of Olympia Hospitality and is essential to our vision as we continue to grow,” says Sara Masterson, president of Olympia Hospitality. “Both Charlotte and Jayson bring a deep understanding of the Boston market and wealth of knowledge related to the intricacies of hotel operations and hospitality management. Their expertise will be instrumental in strengthening our position in the market, ensuring each continue to thrive as standout destinations for Boston locals and visitors for years to come.”
At the helm of Beacon Hill Hotel, Jayson Goldstein joins as general manager overseeing hotel operations and on-site bar and restaurant, a core business driver and community staple known by locals as Beacon Hill’s Living Room in one of the city’s most historic neighborhoods. Goldstein’s robust career is punctuated by key leadership roles in the food and beverage space with high profile brands like Loews, Four Seasons, and the Waldorf Astoria to Boston-area household hospitality names such as Neighborhood Restaurant Group and Levy Restaurants. Most recently, he served as Director of Food and Beverage at the YOTEL Boston, where his role spanned multi-unit restaurant and sales operations, revenue management and community relations to the creation of culinary concept Vela – from design to execution. Goldstein is a graduate of University of North Texas with dual degrees in Hotel and Restaurant Management and Finance.
Seasoned hospitality leader Charlotte Kennedy has been promoted to General Manager at Harvard Square Hotel in Cambridge. Kennedy’s career has come full circle, starting in group sales and as acting hotel manager for Harvard Square Hotel to culminating in her present-day appointment at the boutique hotel. She has also served in leadership roles at Boston’s Battery Wharf Hotel and Sonesta Hotels. Her deep understanding of the Boston market will further solidify the hotel’s reputation as top choice for visitors to Cambridge. Kennedy has a degree from Boston University in Hospitality Administration.
These hires follow the recent appointment of Michael Briggs, who returned as managing director for Olympia Hospitality at the end of 2024. Backed by more than 25 years of hospitality experience, Briggs is at the helm of strategy and operations for the company’s independent portfolio of properties in New England – including both Beacon Hill Hotel and Harvard Square Hotel – as well as a portfolio of properties in coveted leisure destinations like Nantucket and The Edgartown Collection on Martha’s Vineyard.
“Returning to Olympia Hospitality at such a pivotal time of growth has been exciting,” shares Briggs. “The product and experiences our hotels deliver are a result of the expertise and commitment of each team, and central to our continued success. Both Charlotte and Jayson are outstanding additions to our leadership team and have the experience and vision to lead Harvard Square Hotel and Beacon Hill Hotel in this next stage.”
