‘God Of War’ is getting a huge soundtrack vinyl boxset for the series’ 20th anniversary

This year sees God Of War celebrate its 20th anniversary – and fans can look forward to a special vinyl boxset.

Released by Laced Records, the 13-LP collection will feature 150 remastered tracks from across the God Of War franchise.

The anniversary collection will include the complete soundtracks for 2005’s God Of War, 2007’s God Of War 2 and 2010’s God Of War 3 alongside the 2018 reboot. The music of celebrated sequel God Of War: Ragnarök will also be included, as will the soundtrack to the Valhalla expansion.

A selection of music from God Of War: Ascension, Chains Of Olympus, Ghost Of Sparta and God Of War Ragnarök: Lofi Beats To Journal To will also be included in the mammoth boxset, which costs £250 and is available to pre-order now.

This is the first time the soundtrack for the first three God Of War games will be available on vinyl and each entry in the Greek saga will be available as a limited-edition double LP set for £36 each. All the vinyl is due to ship in October.

“At every step along Kratos’ odyssey, the music of God Of War has been about capturing the flames and the fury of his struggle, harnessing the might of the orchestra, the humanity and divinity of the choir, and thunderous percussion,” reads a press release.

“Each score is brimming with powerful, yet emotive themes worthy of the gods themselves, bringing a noble but warlike weightiness to the games. A pantheon of composers has touched the series, including Gerard K. Marino, Mike Reagan, Ron Fish, Cris Velasco, Grammy Award-winner Winifred Phillips, Winnie Waldron, Tyler Bates, and Grammy Award-nominated Bear McCreary.”

Earlier this week, it was announced that Amazon Prime Video’s adaptation of God Of War has already been greenlit for two seasons. However fans are worried after new showrunner Ronald D. Moore admitted that he “wasn’t a gamer” and that he hasn’t play the games because modern controllers are too complicated.

A new God Of War game could also be in the works, according to a new report. After exploring Norse and Greek mythology, this new title would be set in ancient Egypt.

In other news, Xbox has shared a new update on the eagerly-anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong – and fans aren’t happy.
