INTERNATIONAL. Today is the beginning of Eid al-Fitr, the major religious holiday celebrated by Muslims at the end of the month-long Ramadan fasting period.

The Islamic world traditionally holds a two-day festival, which includes prayers, charity, social gatherings, festive meals and gifting to honour the occasion. Eid Mubarak is the phrase used by Muslims to greet each other during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
