‘Industry’: Kal Penn, ‘Stranger Things’ star Charlie Heaton join season four

Three new additions have been announced for the cast of Industry‘s fourth season – check them out below.

Yesterday (March 21), HBO and Max announced three new cast members for the upcoming fourth season of Industry. Now joining the team are Kal Penn (Harold & Kumar, Designated Survivor, How I Met Your Mother), Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things) and Claire Forlani (Meet Joe Black, Hawaii Five-O).

They join other new additions like Kiernan Shipka (Twisters, The Last Showgirl), Jack Farthing (Towards Zero, Rain Dogs) Toheeb Jimoh (Ted Lasso, The Power) and Amy James-Kelly (Three Families, Coronation Street), all of whom were announced in March.

Penn will play Jay Jonah Atterbury, described as the “CEO and founder of payment processor Tender.” Heaton will play Jim Dycker, “a finance journalist.” Lastly, Forlani will play Cordelia Hanani-Spyrka, a “corporate PR heavy-hitter.”

Tender is expected to be a major focus for season four, fellow new additions Max Mingella playing Whitney Halberstram, Tender’s CFO and co-founder, and Shipka portraying Haley Clay, an executive assistant in the company.

One actor who won’t be returning for season four is Harry Lawtey, who starred in the series as Robert Spearing. According to Deadline, Lawtey’s departure from the show is due to scheduling conflicts, though the publication was unable to identify which of his projects will clash with season four’s production.

Industry has been an acclaimed series throughout its run and has catapulted several of its cast into superstardom, including David Jonnson, who has won the EE Rising Star Award at this year’s BAFTAs. Also nominated were his Industry cast mates Marisa Abela and Nabhaan Rizwan.

The series is created and written by Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, who also serve as executive producers alongside Jane Tranter, Kate Crowther, and Ryan Rasmussen for Bad Wolf and Rebecca Ferguson for the BBC.

Production on season four, which will be eight episodes, began in the UK late last month. The series airs exclusively on the BBC in the UK.
