The Moogai Exclusive Clip Reveals Someone Is Stealing Aboriginal Babies

During the dark period of Australia, Aboriginal Australians were forced to assimilate into white civilization. Children were taken away from the indigenous peoples of Australia to wipe out the genetic pool through direct integration. To the point, a boogeyman of a white ghost of The Moogai created a legend of stealing children.

The film stars Shari Sebbens, a mother haunted by the Moogai, and seeks to protect her children from the malevolent being. It also stars Meyne Wyatt and Tessa Rose.

Here is the official description of The Moogai:

Sarah and Fergus, a hopeful young Aboriginal couple, give birth to their second baby. But what should be a joyous time of their lives becomes sinister when Sarah starts seeing a malevolent spirit she is convinced is trying to take her baby. Fergus, who can’t see it but desperately wants to believe in her, grows increasingly worried as she becomes more unbalanced. Is the child-stealing spirit real or is she in fact the biggest threat to the safety of their family?

LRM Online has the exclusive from The Moogai titled “Don’t Take This Baby.” In this clip, Sarah is approached by her mother about a being stealing children and revealed her sister was taken. Sarah was dismissive of her tall tales.

The Moogai from Samuel Goldwyn Films is in theaters in the United States on Friday, May 9. It previously premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and had screenings at the SXSW and Sydney Film Festival.
