QATAR. Qatar Duty Free has marked its 25th anniversary with a tribute led by Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, who credited staff contributions for the company’s evolution into a leading airport retail and hospitality operator. 

He said, “Qatar Duty Free embodies the dedication, creativity and passion of our entire Qatar Airways team. 

“Our colleagues at QDF are the heartbeat of our passenger-focused operations. Their commitment has transformed QDF into a world-class business, providing memorable experiences for millions of travellers each year.” 

The company credited employees for shaping its journey – from QDF’s first retail outlet to pioneering concepts such as the Louis Vuitton Lounge and Souq Al Matar

Qatar Duty Free recognised eight long-serving team members who have been with the business since its inception. 

Their careers reflect Qatar Duty Free’s growth from a modest retail operation to an enterprise with over 4,000 staff and 200+ retail and dining outlets. 

The retailer attributes its growth to staff contributions and ongoing investment in personnel, technology and partnerships, combining Qatari heritage with international offerings. 

Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer added, “Our people will always be at the centre of everything we do. Together, we will continue to set new standards and deliver world-class experiences to customers passing through Hamad International Airport.” ✈
