Rockstar Games have shared a new trailer for GTA 6, giving fans a better look at Vice City and new protagonists Jason and Lucia.
The first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 was shared back in 2023 and was soundtracked by Tom Petty’s ‘Love Is A Long Road’. Following the release of the record-breaking trailer, streams of the Petty classic skyrocketed with Spotify reporting a 36,979 per cent increase in listens.
The second trailer was released earlier today (May 6) and the two-minute clip gives players a better understanding of the relationship between dual protagonists Jason Duvall and Lucia Camino. There’s sex, shots, shoot-outs and a helicopter chase – which is all very GTA.
What song plays in Grand Theft Auto’s Trailer 2?
A bulk of the trailer is soundtracked by The Pointer Sisters’ 1986 ‘Hot Together’, from the album of the same name. It’s also been used in 1987 sci-fi comedy caper Spaceballs and buddy cop film Stakeout.
What other music is featured in the GTA 6 trailer?
As well as The Pointer Sisters, the trailer features a short montage of Jason driving around, collecting money for his boss. While cruising around the state of Leonida, snippets of three different songs can be briefly heard via the radio. They are:
‘Everybody Have Fun Tonight’ – Wang Chung
‘Child Support’ – Zenglen & 5 Etwal
‘Talkin’ To Myself Again’ – Tammy Wynette
Last week, Rockstar confirmed Grand Theft Auto 6 would not be released this year. Instead fans will have to wait until May 26, 2026 to play the long-awaited game. “With every game we have released, the goal has always been to try and exceed your expectations, and GTA 6 is no exception,” developers said in a statement. “We hope you understand that we need this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve.”
However a number of fans were annoyed about the delay, especially after multiple promises that the game would be released this year.
Back in 2023, Spotify teamed up with Grand Theft Auto for an official playlist – though none of the new GTA 6 tracks feature on it.
In other news, Microsoft has announced that a remastered version of classic Xbox game Gears Of War will finally be available on PlayStation later this year.
