Halo: Combat Evolved Remaster PS5 Version

Microsoft announced Gears of War: Reloaded, a new remaster of the popular shooter’s first entry. The upcoming remaster also marks the first time Marcus Fenix and the COG’s fight against the Locust will be playable on a PlayStation console. This announcement has sparked a bit more interest and hope for Halo‘s arrival on PS5.

Will Halo finish the fight on PS5?

In a recent Reddit post on the PS5 subreddit, user Turbostrider27 posted the news about Gears of War: Reloaded. Other users took to the comment section to express their excitement, as well as their hopes for Halo to finally come to PlayStation consoles.

“Hope we get the Master Chief Collection,” says one user. “I want more than just Halo: Combat Evolved remaster.”

“Fully expecting a port of [Halo: The Master Chief Collection] on PS5 and Switch 2 to be announced on the Xbox showcase next month,” says another user.

“You’d think they would spread it out more, though,” says another user. “We are getting Age of Mythology, Age of Empires II, Indiana Jones, Forza, and Gears of War in the same year. Wouldn’t be surprised if we get Halo by November, honestly.”

As of this writing, a port for any Halo game has not yet been announced formally by Microsoft. However, there have been numerous rumors regarding Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s arrival on the PS5. Earlier in the year, Windows Central’s Jez Corden claimed the collection is coming to Sony’s console, but never said when.

It does seem likely that Microsoft would bring Halo to PS5 eventually. Forza and Gears of War are two of Xbox’s biggest franchises, and are now on the PS5. The green gaming brand has also brought several other games to Sony’s console, like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Age of Empires 2. We’ll just have to wait and see if the company decides to have Master Chief finish the fight on a PlayStation platform.
