Mogwai have announced details of a massive outdoor gig in London alongside Lankum. Find details below.
The new show was confirmed today (March 21) and will see both bands take to the stage as part of the 2025 edition of the London festival South Facing.
Set to be held at Crystal Palace Park across August, the two bands will take to the stage on August 7 for a double bill. The event will be the only UK summer appearance planned for Mogwai this year, and the only show in London for Lankum in 2025.
For Mogwai, it comes as the Glasgow band recently shared their 11th studio album ‘The Bad Fire’, which was previewed by the intriguing single ‘Fanzine Made Of Flesh’. The record arrived as a follow-up to 2021’s ‘As The Love Continues’, and was also previewed by singles ‘God Gets You Back’ and ‘Lion Rumpus’.
The gig at South Facing will come following them wrapping up their planned tour dates for North America, set to take place across April and May.
For Lankum, the gig comes following them being introduced to a whole new wave of listeners after being shortlisted for the 2023 Mercury Prize with their album ‘False Lankum’. More recently, they took to the stage with Massive Attack last year for the latter’s eco-conscious ‘Act 1.5’ show in Bristol.
They join the list of previously announced artists set to perform at South Facing 2025. So far, announcements have included Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Basement Jaxx, Skepta’s Big Smoke Festival and Flackstock.

Next week, Mogwai are set to perform at the 2025 edition of the BBC Radio 6 Music Festival, which will be held in Greater Manchester between March 26-29. As well as the Scottish band, other confirmed acts include Ezra Collective, Kae Tempest, English Teacher, Perfume Genius and Fat Dog.
