Jasmine Cephas Jones Joins DC's LANTERNS in a Key Guest Star Role
HBO’s upcoming DC Studios drama Lanterns just added another member to its cast. Origin and Blindspotting star Jasmine Cephas Jones has signed on in a key guest-starring role, joining an already stacked ensemble that includes Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Kelly MacDonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, and Ulrich Thomsen.The series, which is led by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King, reimagines the Green Lantern mythos through a gritty, Earth-based mystery. The story follows John Stewart (Pierre), a newly recruited Lantern, and veteran Hal Jordan (Chandler) as they dive into a murder investigation that unravels something far more sinister.Cephas Jones will portray Young Bernadette, John Stewart’s mother. Described as “resilient” and “forever the family fixer,” Bernadette is a big-picture thinker who pushes herself and her loved ones to meet the highest standards.
