Fossil x Minecraft themed rugged chronograph watches celebrate the spirit of time exploration

The popular sandbox game Minecraft designed and developed by Markus Persson, and later acquired by Microsoft is the evergreen talk of forum discussions. Whether it is a gamer or someone who isn’t interested in a video game-related ice-breaking moment, this global sensation has amazed everyone with its procedurally generated world for endless exploration. There are more than enough reasons to go crazy about Minecraft and having unrelated collaborations that celebrate the complexity of the core mechanics of the game.

Fossil wants to bring the storytelling of a Minecraft player right to your wrist with a limited-edition watch. The visually striking chronograph dubbed the Minecraft x Fossil Limited Edition Grass Chronograph Watch is a part of the rugged Machine Collection. This timepiece is an imaginative piece that tells the story of the hero you play in the virtual world. Fossil has released this one as a part of two limited edition releases – Deesplate and Grass bloc – both themed on the popular game. AS Fossil puts it, “Rooted in creativity, this timepiece plays into the endless quest of crafting your own world from the ground up – block by block.”

‘Time’ to get the feel of Minecraft world

I’m more intrigued by the Grass edition since it depicts the initial phase of the adventure when a player enters the unknown pixelated world. I got to playing Minecraft some time ago but didn’t have the patience to invest time due to my hustle routine. This Fossil watch has just sparked that interest again. The motif on the dial is nostalgia personified, representing the initial earth block on which the newbie player starts the exploration. If you look closely, the hands of the watch dial represent the tools – pickaxe, torch and sword – that are at the disposal of the player.

The 50-meter water-resistant wristwatch has a 44mm steel case and a bezel that represents Minecraft’s Overworld. On the inside, the 30-minute complication chronograph has a Japanese quartz movement that’s battery-powered. Attached to the pixelated, blocky aesthetic of the watch is the 22mmm wide silicon strap that carries the same earthen feel in a tan color and the block-textured pattern. It also gets the lenticular case back to keep the vibe going. The limited edition Minecraft x Fossil Limited-Edition Grass Block Chronograph Watch is up for grabs at $250, so better get one before stocks exhaust.

Go Matte black for diamond mining exploration

For seasoned Minecraft players or people who like to sport darker colors on their wrist, the Deepslate Chronograph Watch is the one to go for. According to the maker, “This rugged timepiece captures the mystery of mining the deep dark in search of the elusive diamond ore.” The timepiece comes with sub-eye hands representing the glowing diamond tools. Compared to the other version this one gets a sculpted blocky top ring, and a theme that represents the underground world of the game that seasoned players like to explore a lot. On the rear, the caseback has a diamond that looks like a cool hologram.

The watch is paired with a black silicone strap that complements the darker hue of Minecraft’s dark world. The specifications of the Machine Collection watch are the same as the Grass edition and no difference there. The Limited Edition Deepslate Chronograph Watch is going to be limited to 2,220 units, but it might be too late as it is labeled as being sold out on the Fossil website. Along with these Quartz chronographs, Fossil has also released Minecraft-themed wallets and bracelets to complete the cool look.
