What is status match?

It is the opportunity for members with an elite status in eligible frequent flyer programs to receive the equivalent elite status in lifemiles for 4 months. During this period, members who meet the requirements can extend their status for an additional 8 months.

What are the requirements to request an equalization of status?

  • Be a lifemiles member. You can sign up for our program here
  • Be Colombia, Ecuador or Central America resident.
  • Have elite level in one of the following frequent traveler programs: Latam Pass, AAdvantage, Delta Sky Miles, Aeromexico Rewards, Iberia Plus.
  • Fill out the form
  • Attach a color photo of the elite program card where your name and elite level can be evidenced.
  • Attach color ID card from Colombia, Ecuador, or any Central American country (Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, or Panama), or proof of residency from these countries, such as a utility bill, bank statement, or an official document issued within the last three months. The document must include your full name, current address, and date of issue.

What is the validity of the lifemiles elite status granted if my application is approved?

You will have the status for an initial period of 4 months in which they must meet the goal of each elite level. If the goal is met, it will be extended for an additional period of 8 months, but if you do not meet it, or if you do not meet the goal of a lower level, you will lose your elite status along with the benefits granted.

Terms and Conditions of Avianca LifeMiles Status Match:

  • To participate in the elite Status Match promotion, the member must be enrolled with the lifemiles program, be a Colombia, Ecuador or Central America resident and have an elite status from the list of eligible programs, fill out the form, attach the color photo of the current card of the eligible loyalty program and Attach a color ID card from Colombia, Ecuador, or any Central American country (Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, or Panama), or proof of residency from these countries, such as a utility bill, bank statement, or an official document issued within the last three months. The document must include your full name, current address, and date of issue. If you are not yet affiliated with the lifemiles Program, you can do so here.
  • The programs eligible to participate in the elite Status Match are: LatamPass, Addvantage, Delta Sky Miles, Aeromexico Rewards, Iberia Plus, Flying blue, Executive Club, Air Europa SUMA
  • Only one (1) elite Status Match will be allowed per person.
  • If applicable, the elite Status Match will be granted once in a lifetime. If you request it more than once, it will be denied.
  • Members who have an elite status with lifemiles can participate in the campaign to reach a higher status, as long as they meet the requirements.
  • The lifemiles status will be granted temporarily for a period of four months. Said status will be extended for eight more months only if the member meets the total qualifying miles challenge, including the minimum number of miles flown with Avianca, required to extend the status during the previous 4 initial months.
  • The goal by level that they must achieve during the 4 months in which the elite status is delivered are:

  • If the member fails to complete the challenge requirements within the 4-month period, the lifemiles elite Status granted will expire and they will lose the benefits associated with this elite level
  • If a member does not reach the matched status goal but does reach the goal of a lower status, they will receive the status corresponding to the achieved goal. If they reach the goal of a higher status, they will maintain the equal status.
  • If a member reaches a lifemiles elite status on a regular basis, meeting the regular requirements of said status, they will automatically receive their status and accept the terms and conditions of the elite program.
  • lifemiles will respond to requests within a maximum period of 10 business days, both to deliver the status and to report that your request has been rejected.
  • The accounts of clients who obtain elite lifemiles status through this promotion will be updated in the system within 10 business days after submitting the form.
  • Members who achieve elite lifemiles status through a status match will enjoy partial elite benefits for the 4-month matched status period:

  • lifemiles reserves the right to revoke granted matches and block member’s account if during an audit or investigation, lifemiles determines that the person is violating the rules of the lifemiles program.
