Underworld played Kings Theatre (pics, setlist)
Underworld’s show got moved from Brooklyn Mirage to Kings Theatre at the last minute, but Karl Hyde and Rick Smith made lemonade of the less-than-rave-ideal situation

This wasn’t exactly the Brooklyn show UK electronica greats Underworld had planned when their US tour was announced. But when original venue Brooklyn Mirage had its reopening delayed again, the show was moved at the last minute to Kings Theatre — a gorgeous venue but maybe not ideal for a dance party. But Karl Hyde and Rick Smith were determined to make lemonade out of the situation they were given. “This is the only option available to us due to the production of our show, venue availability, and the number of people attending,” they wrote. “But we WANT to dance with you. We WILL dance together. We have a show that you will love and we want to share it. Any space is a rave when we’re together in the smoke and the lights.”
Tickets for the whole venue were general admission and available at a discounted rate, and their show featured two sets of classics, plus songs from their terrific 2024 album Strawberry Hotel. The night, of course, ended with their Trainspotting classic “Born Slippy.” Check out pics by Sachyn Mital and the setlist below.
