Jay Duplass Joins Jessica Chastain in Rob Savage’s ‘Incidents Around the House’

Jay Duplass (“Transparent”) is joining Jessica Chastain (IT: Chapter 2) in Universal’s Incidents Around the House, Deadline reports.

Rob Savage (Host, The Boogeyman) is directing from a script by Nathan Elston (“Succession”), based on the 2024 horror novel by Bird Box author Josh Malerman.

The story centers on 8-year-old Bela, who lives in a home strained by her parents’ troubled marriage, only to see her life further upended by a sinister entity she calls Other Mommy. When this malevolent presence emerges from her closet asking, “Can I go inside your heart?” Bela refuses. But soon, Other Mommy’s manifestations become increasingly aggressive, threatening the safety of Bela’s family.

Atomic Monster/Blumhouse produces in association with Malerman’s Spin a Black Yarn. James Wan is producing with Alayna Glasthal overseeing for his Atomic Monster. Execute producers include Savage, Malerman, Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Macdara Kelleher, and Ryan Lewis.
