Uncover Disturbing Obsession Later This Year in Narrative Horror Game ‘VILE: Exhumed’ [Trailer]

DreadXP has added another title to its new XP Ultra line of bite-sized titles with VILE: Exhumed from solo developer Cara Cadaver and her studio, Final Girl Games. Coming to Steam later this year, VILE: Exhumed is a narrative horror game that tells the uncomfortable tale of parasocial obsession gone horribly wrong through the contents of a decades-old computer.

Expanding upon the original 2024 version found on itch.io, players in VILE: Exhumed will explore the contents of an old computer, through forums, notes, photos, videos, and emails to sift through the secrets within. Piecing together a story of one man’s obsession, misogyny, entitlement, and consequences, you’ll discover the details surrounding adult film actress Candy Corpse’s retirement, and the details surrounding her decision.

“VILE is a page ripped right from my journal. I hope it is as uncomfortable and gut-churning to play as it was for me to make,” says Cadaver. “Seeing others play the original version and relate to it so deeply was incredibly special. This expanded version of the game includes even more of the emotional and literal guts of the original. I can’t wait for those guts to get untangled, and for players to arrange them in a meaningful way themselves.”
