The Paper
Peacock has released the first photo from “The Paper,” the upcoming new take on “The Office” which will be hitting Peacock in September. Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, and Oscar Nuñez star.
The series follows the Dunder Mifflin documentary crew as they focus on a dying historic Midwestern newspaper, The Toledo Truth-Teller, and the volunteer reporters and publisher trying to revive its fortunes. [Source: Variety]
Fox One
Fox Corp. has announced Fox One, an upcoming streaming service for consumers who never have or will never subscribe to a traditional pay TV service. Pricing is to be determined, and a launch window is targeting this Fall before NFL season.
The service will include live and on-demand feeds of Fox, Fox News, Fox Weather, Fox Business and FS1 among others. There’s also a full lineup of sports, news, and entertainment programming along with ‘advanced personalization technology’. [Source: THR]
Too Much
Netflix has set a July 10th release date for “Too Much,” the “Girls” creator’s return to television with an ex-pat rom-com series. Meg Stalter plays a New York workaholic in her mid-thirties, reeling from a broken relationship who moves to London and plans to forgo relationships.
She encounters Felix (Will Sharpe) and finds that their unusual connection impossible to ignore. Janicza Bravo, Richard E. Grant, Rita Wilson, Naomi Watts, Andrew Rannells, Rhea Perlman, Emily Ratajkowski and Adwoa Aboah co-star. [Source: Netflix]
Mussolini: Son of the Century
MUBI has acquired Joe Wright‘s acclaimed eight-part period drama series “Mussolini: Son of the Century” for North America and other territories. The series is adapted from the documentary novel by Antonio Scurati.
Luca Marinelli (“The Old Guard”) plays the tyrant in this story about Mussolini’s rise to power and the birth of fascism in Italy, showing how “charisma and chaos can coexist” says Wright. [Source: Variety]
Lupin
Netflix has confirmed that production has commenced on the fourth ‘Part’ of its gentleman thief series “Lupin”. Omar Sy reprises his iconic role as Assane Diop in the French series which has been one of the streamer’s most popular non-English productions to date. The third ‘Part’, which aired back in late 2023, ended with Assane behind bars – that likely won’t last long.
