“The Last of Us” S2 ‘Weeks Ahead’ Trailer

Following HBO having just released the season premiere, the network has debuted a new trailer of what’s to come in the six remaining episodes of the second season of their game-to-TV adaptation of “The Last of Us”.

The clip offers new looks at Abby’s plan, the not-yet-introduced Seraphites and their battle with the Washington Liberation Front (WLF), the mission to Seattle, and the massive attack of the fungal horde on Jackson.

The season premiere tackles the first half of the ‘Jackson’ section of the second game with a key Abby-related scene added to the start, one conversation switching up its participants, and a flashback scene from later in the game moved forward into the main narrative.

This would strongly suggest things are being teed up for big events to go down in the next two episodes with the directors listed offering the most likely giveaways.

The second episode is helmed by Mark Mylod, who directed multiple episodes of “Game of Thrones” including large-scale battle scenes and moments (like Cersei exploding the Great Sept).

The third episode is being helmed by Peter Hoar who directed the first season’s most acclaimed hour, the highly emotional Frank & Bill episode “Long, Long Time”.
