Jeep Reveals Ultralight “Bug Out” Concept Based on the 4xe
Jeep has unveiled its "Bug Out" 4xe Concept, a stripped-down, ultralight take on the Wrangler Rubicon 4xe built for modern overlanding adventures. Designed with weight management in mind, the concept blends the ruggedness of a Jeep with the minimalism of ultralight camping, offering a fully capable electric-assisted off-road rig with an eye toward sustainability and efficiency.Finished in a special PEA51 matte silver with yellow accents, the Bug Out 4xe features a raised roof for added space, a Gladiator-style tailgate, custom body panels and auxiliary battery packs integrated into the sides. Its 12-inch extended body houses a high-clearance rear bumper and drop tailgate, while 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 tires wrap around lightweight Forgeline wheels for serious trail clearance.Inside, the concept is outfitted for adventure. Waterproof bed-lined floors, modular mole panels and a flat rear space allow for easy shelter setup, including a hammock-ready attachment system. Custom front seats with topographic detailing and ample secure storage complete the minimalist, purpose-driven interior. A mounted Jeep-branded e-scooter adds a final touch, giving drivers a secondary mode of eco-friendly exploration for up to 40 minutes at a time.
