Bruce Springsteen added to The Music of Patti Smith benefit
The lineup also includes Michael Stipe, Karen O, Paul Banks, Courtney Barnett, Matt Berninger, Angel Olsen, and more.

Patti Smith will be celebrated at this year’s “The Music Of…” benefit, happening on Wednesday (3/26) at Carnegie Hall, and they’ve made a pretty exciting addition to the lineup: Bruce Springsteen, who wrote “Because the Night” with Patti, will now perform. He joins Interpol‘s Paul Banks, Courtney Barnett, The National‘s Matt Berninger, Body/Head (aka Kim Gordon and Bill Nace), Glen Hansard, Ben Harper, Susanna Hoffs, The Pretenders‘ Chrissie Hynde, Jim Jarmusch, Scarlett Johansson, Yeah Yeah Yeahs‘ Karen O, Kronos Quartet, Jesse Malin, The Kills‘ Alison Mosshart, Angel Olsen, Sean Penn, Michael Shannon, Michael Stipe, Shanon Van Etten, and surprise guests.
The house band, led by Tony Shanahan of Patti’s band, will feature Flea, Benmont Tench, Steve Jordan, and Charlie Sexton. Tickets are currently sold out, but there are a few VIP options available.
Patti herself is also going on a Horses 50th anniversary tour, including NYC shows at Beacon Theatre on November 21 and 22.
