Beyoncé begins ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour – see the setlist, videos, pics & more

After releasing her new album Cowboy Carter back in March of 2024, doing her first live event behind it at an NFL Christmas Day Halftime Show, and then winning the Album of the Year Grammy for the first time in her career, Beyoncé finally began the Cowboy Carter Tour at LA’s SoFi Stadium last night (4/28), her first of five shows at the venue.

Her 36-song set included 19 of Cowboy Carter‘s songs and a good chunk of her previous album, Renaissance, three from Lemonade (“Formation,” “Freedom,” and the Cowboy Carter-friendly “Daddy Lessons” for the first time since 2016), and just a few older ones–“Crazy In Love,” “Diva,” “Why Don’t You Love Me”–not counting the snippets/elements of other older songs that were weaved into the newer ones. She also covered Maze and Frankie Beverly’s “Before I Let Go” and did a Jimi Hendrix-inspired rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” and she incorporated elements (either into her live performances or into songs played over the PA) of songs by Death Grips, Wisp, JPEGMAFIA, BigXthaPlug, Justice, Ennio Morricone, Nancy Sinatra, and more. Her daughters Rumi and Blue Ivy joined her during “Protector,” and Blue Ivy danced with her during a number of other songs.
