Spider-Man: Brand New Day to Film August And J.K. Simmons Back As Jameson | Barside Buzz

According to some new Barside Buzz, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will begin filming this August and J.K. Simmons reprises his role as J.J. Jameson for the film. The rumor comes from Daniel RPK on his Patreon service.

Plot details are still under wraps on this one. I mean there are millions of plot rumors for this film really. However, they are all older and no ones seems to be willing to stick their neck on the line to make many claims about this version of the film.

All we really know semi-officially is that Sadie Sink is in the film alongside Holland and Zendaya reprising their roles. We also know for a fact that the film is coming out in between Doomsday and Secret Wars. The rumor is the film will act as a bridge from one Avengers movie to the other, but we shall see.

As for Simmons, well surely this was a given? There’s no way they bring back Simmons for Far From Home and then just not use him going forward. At least, I hope not.

August seems to make sense given it allows Holland and Zendaya to finish up on Nolan’s Odyssey movie. However, I do trust Daniel with any Sony related news as he’s usually spot on there.

A final rumor from Daniel says he’s heard the X-Men reboot main villain is still Mister Sinister in this latest draft. Given the movie is due to shoot within a year, it does seem likely Sinister will remain the villain. I’d imagine a villain change might be a page one rewrite at this stage. Exactly when X-Men will film is unknown but we have heard it will be out not long after Secret Wars, so maybe 2027, or 2028?
