The Force was strong today at Star Wars Celebration 2025 as thousands of fans gathered at the Makuhari Messe Convention Center for a jam-packed second day filled with exclusive premieres, behind-the-scenes reveals, and surprise announcements from a galaxy far, far away.
The international fan convention, running April 18–20, continued its high-energy momentum with major updates from two of Disney+’s most beloved Star Wars series, as well as the reveal of a new animated LEGO Star Wars special.
The day kicked off in electrifying fashion as hosts Sascha Boeckle and DJ Taro welcomed fans with a first look at Season 2 of the Emmy®-nominated drama Andor. The long-awaited return of the critically acclaimed series is set to premiere on April 22, and Celebration guests were treated to an early screening of the first episode, along with an exclusive teaser of what’s to come.
Creator Tony Gilroy and star/executive producer Diego Luna took the stage alongside executive producer Sanne Wohlenberg and cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, and Alan Tudyk for an in-depth panel. The team shared insights into the final chapter of Cassian Andor’s journey—a gritty, 12-episode arc set against the rising tensions of galactic war.
“This season is about transformation,” Luna said. “It’s Cassian stepping fully into the rebellion, with all the weight and sacrifice that comes with it.”
The season will unfold in four narrative chapters, each comprised of three episodes. Chapter one premieres April 22, with new chapters dropping weekly on Disney+.
Fans were gifted an exclusive Andor celebration poster following the screening.
Next, the Celebration spotlight shifted to another hit Disney+ series: Ahsoka. Star Wars legends Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau took the stage with Rosario Dawson and Hayden Christensen to reflect on Season 1 and tease what’s next. The panel showcased never-before-seen photography and officially confirmed that Rory McCann will step into the role of Baylan Skoll, a fan-favorite character originally portrayed by the late Ray Stevenson.

Production on Ahsoka Season 2 begins next week, with fans getting an early glimpse of concept art and set designs. “We’re building on everything we explored in the first season,” Filoni said. “The Force has more stories to tell.”
But the surprises didn’t end there.
On the Star Wars LIVE! Stage, Ahmed Best brought the crowd to its feet with the announcement of a new LEGO Star Wars animated special: LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild Galaxy – Pieces of the Past. The four-part sequel, arriving September 19, 2025 on Disney+, promises a wild, brick-built adventure through forgotten corners of Star Wars lore.

In this new chapter, Sig Greebling and Darth Dev must unite against a mysterious galactic threat, joined by Jedi Bob, Yesi Scala, and Servo. The returning voice cast includes Gaten Matarazzo, Tony Revolori, Bobby Moynihan, Marsai Martin, Michael Cusack, and Ahmed Best, with special appearances by Mark Hamill as LEGO Luke Skywalker, Ashley Eckstein as BrickHeadz Ahsoka, and Ben Schwartz as the fan-favorite rabbit-like smuggler Jaxxon.
Written by Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit and directed by Chris Buckley, Pieces of the Past looks to be a hilarious, heartfelt homage to the saga’s past and present.
With one more day to go, Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Tokyo has already delivered unforgettable moments—and there’s no telling what surprises the final day may bring.
