‘Superman’ Soars Behind The Scenes Ahead Of Summer Blockbuster Release

The Man of Steel is ready to fly again — and this time, it’s under the bold and visionary direction of James Gunn. DC Studios has released an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Superman, the highly anticipated reboot hitting theaters and IMAX nationwide on July 11, 2025.

As the first feature film to launch DC Studios’ newly imagined cinematic universe, Superman promises a fresh take on the iconic hero, blending epic action, heartfelt storytelling, and Gunn’s signature wit. The film stars David Corenswet (Twisters, Hollywood) as Clark Kent/Superman, stepping into the cape for a new generation of fans.

Joining him is Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as fearless reporter Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult (X-Men, Juror #2) as the legendary villain Lex Luthor. The star-studded cast also includes Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell.

Gunn, who also wrote the screenplay, brings a personal touch to the film, focusing on Superman’s enduring belief in the goodness of humanity. “He’s a symbol of hope, compassion, and integrity — everything we need more of today,” Gunn shared in the new behind-the-scenes footage.

Produced by DC Studios co-heads Peter Safran and James Gunn, the film is based on the beloved characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Longtime collaborators join Gunn behind the camera, including director of photography Henry Braham, production designer Beth Mickle, costume designer Judianna Makovsky, and composer John Murphy. The editing team features industry heavyweights William Hoy, Jason Ballantine, and Craig Alpert.

Executive producers Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars Winther round out the powerhouse team bringing this ambitious project to life.
