“Ready or Not” Sequel Begins Filming

Acting veterans Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood are set to join returnee Samara Weaving and the previously announced Kathryn Newton in the sequel “Ready or Not: Here I Come” which begins shooting today in Toronto.

Also onboard in supporting roles are Shawn Hatosy (“The Pitt”), Néstor Carbonell (“The Dark Knight”), Kevin Durand (“Abigail”) and filmmaker David Cronenberg.

Written by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, the original 2019 dark comedy horror hit starred Samara Weaving as a young newlywed who learns of her new family’s wedding night ritual: pulling a card from a puzzle card game.

If someone draws the Hide and Seek card, as she does, then a murderous game is played, all in order to appease an ancient family deal with the devil. Adam Brody, Henry Czerny and Andie MacDowell co-starred.

Made for $6 million, “Ready or Not” grossed over $28 million domestically and scored strong reviews and strong home entertainment revenue.

Radio Silence, which consists of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett who co-directed the first film and Chad Villella who executive produced it, are all back in the same capacities for the sequel along with the same writers, production designer and cinematographer.

Also onboard to produce are Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, Bradley J. Fischer and William Sherak.
