Kneecap respond to cancelled Eden Project gig by announcing replacement Plymouth show on same date

Kneecap have responded to The Eden Project cancelling their planned Eden Sessions gig by announcing a replacement Plymouth show on the same date, only 30 minutes later.

The Belfast rap trio were due to play this year’s Eden Summer Sessions on July 4, with support from The Streets‘ Mike Skinner. It would have marked their first-ever performance in Cornwall.

However, amid a week of controversy for the group, the gig has now been cancelled, with a spokesperson for Eden Sessions saying: “Eden Sessions Limited announced today that the Kneecap show at Eden Project scheduled for July 4, 2025 has been cancelled.”

“Ticket purchasers will be contacted directly and will be fully refunded,” they continued. “The refund process will commence from Wednesday, April 30 2025. Refunds will be processed against the original payment cards used. Purchasers should allow six working days for funds to be received into their accounts.”

Only 30 minutes after the announcement, Kneecap took to their own social media to announce a replacement gig, also on July 4, at Plymouth Pavillion.

It follows a similar chain of events to last week, when the band were dropped by German festivals Hurricane and Southside and went on to quickly book three headline shows in the country on the same dates.

Announcing the replacement shows, they wrote: “Tickets for our first ever German headline shows are ON SALE NOW,” before adding: “Also: the band Kneecap will not be performing at Hurricane or Southside Festival this year.”
