Dacre Montgomery Eyed For Role In Star Wars: Starfighter | Barside BUzz

According to some new Barside Buzz Stranger Things star Dacre Montgomery is being eyed for a role in Star Wars: Starfighter. Star Wars: Starfighter was of course announced as the next Star Wars film to go into production, directed by Shawn Levy. Levy worked with Montgomery previously on Stranger Things where he is an executive producer. The rumor itself comes from the folks over at Nexus Point News.

Now, I’m not saying NPN are on my smell test list. However, benefit of the doubt until we get some incorrect information. This one could easily be waved away by them deciding to go in another direction etc, but we shall see. It’s also a fairly slow news week, so might as well discuss some Star Wars gossip, right?

Here’s what the outlet has to say,

‘Dacre Montgomery is being eyed to join the cast of Star Wars: Starfighter in an undisclosed role, Nexus Point News has learned. Montgomery would portray one of the male leads of the film.’

The lead itself is of course already announced as Ryan Gosling. As for the film’s plot, we know very little. The film is set 5-6 years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. However, not a continuation of the Skywalker Saga.

We do know casting is underway. It was only a couple of weeks ago we found out actress Mikey Madison rejected an offer to join the film. See link above, and there have been some other casting rumors for the film recently.

Star Wars: Starfighter will release on May 28, 2027.
