Another PS5 Multiplayer Flop Seemingly in the Works

A new report indicates that another Concord-sized PS5 multiplayer flop is in the works at PlayStation Studios. This time, it’s Fairgames (or Fairgame$), which is in development at Haven Studios. The studio’s founder Jade Raymond has left Sony under mysterious circumstances.

As reported by Bloomberg, the reason behind Raymond’s unceremonious departure from Haven wasn’t disclosed to the studio’s employees. However, journalist Jason Schreier claims that she left “several weeks” after an external test of Fairgames was conducted, and it didn’t go well.

Bloomberg’s sources suggest that Fairgames was not well-received and its development progress raised some concerns.

“Jade Raymond has been an incredible partner and visionary force in founding Haven Studios,” a PlayStation representative told the publication in a statement. “We are deeply grateful for her leadership and contributions, and we wish her all the best in her next chapter.”

It’s currently unclear what the future holds for Fairgames, but Sony says that it’s “committed to supporting Haven Studios and excited to continue the journey” with two new co-studio heads.

As for Raymond, she didn’t respond to Bloomberg’s request for comment, but there’s widespread speculation that she was ousted. Her most notable work includes Assassin’s Creed games, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist, and Watch Dogs, on which she served as executive producer. Prior to departing Ubisoft for Electronic Arts, she served as managing director on Far Cry 4.
