Last One Laughing UK has been confirmed for a second season.
The popular Amazon Prime Video series, which saw the likes of Bob Mortimer, Richard Ayoade, Daisy May Cooper and Joe Lycett thrown together in the first season, challenges comedians to make each other laugh and are eliminated if they chuckle.
The second series is set to air in 2026 and will once again be hosted by Jimmy Carr.
He said: “I’m absolutely delighted that ‘Last One Laughing’ is coming back for a second series. I think what’s happened is someone high up at Amazon has clicked ‘subscribe & save’ on Prime Video and, hey presto, we’re back in business.
“I’m so pleased people had as much fun watching the first season as we had making it. Can’t wait to bask in the reflected glory of the next 10 comedy legends taking on the challenge.”
The new set of comedians to star in season two will be announced at a later date.
Last One Laughing is produced by Banijay UK labels Zeppotron and Initial. The original format, Japan’s Documental, has been adapted in more than 20 countries.
These have included Ireland, hosted by Graham Norton, Australia hosted by Rebel Wilson and South Africa hosted by Trevor Noah.
This year’s UK winner Bob Mortimer last year revealed that he “couldn’t walk” for “half of the new season” of Gone Fishing, saying that co-star Paul Whitehouse “pulled him through”.
He went through a six-month battle with shingles leaving him with muscle wastage and often bound to a wheelchair.
“I wasn’t very well and it made it a but if a struggle but, as always, Paul looked after me and pulled me through,” Mortimer said at the time.
“For half of the season, I couldn’t walk so it was very challenging at times. When we were in Trent, I was being taken from a wheelchair to the top of the bank. You never see that but you never see me on my feet either,” he added.
Elsewhere, when asked if he had a ‘Brat’ summer in 2024, he said: “A what? What on earth does that mean?”
