Beth and her seven-piece band scaled down their ‘Lives Outgrown’ show to play acoustic in NPR’s offices

While on her 2025 North American solo tour, Portishead’s Beth Gibbons and her phenomenal band stopped by NPR HQ in Washington, DC to film a Tiny Desk concert. While “stripped down” might not be the right term for an eight-piece group that includes strings and woodwinds, they did go acoustic for their four-song set, which features “Tell Me Who You Are Today,” “Floating On A Moment,” and “Reaching Out” from Beth’s fantastic 2024 album Lives Outgrown, and “Mysteries” from her 2002 collaboration with Rustin Man.
