Sophie Ellis-Bextor preps first album since ‘Saltburn’ made “Murder on the Dancefloor” a hit again: hear “Taste”
’Perimenopop’ will be out September 12 via Casablanca Records

Sophie Ellis-Bextor has announced her eighth album, Perimenopop, which will be out September 12 via Casablanca Records. This is her first LP in two years and her first since Saltburn launched her 2001 single “Murder on the Dancefloor” back into the charts and gave her her first US hit.
The album includes recent singles “Freedom of the Night,” “Relentless Love,” and “Vertigo,” and she’s just shared “Taste,” which was produced by Jon Shave and features NMEK.
“With ‘Taste,’ I collaborated with MNEK and Jon Shave to write a playful, flirtatious pop song about chemistry,” Sophie says. “What can really make you want to be around someone is when their taste, what they like in life, is something you become addicted to. You want to experience all delights with them and share it with them as everything they introduce you to feels just right. All your senses feel alive and awake—like the full flavour of life is realised. Chef’s kiss.”
Check that out, and the other singles from the album below. Sophie also has UK and EU tour dates this spring and fall and those are below as well.
