Marvel Rumor Roundup – Vision Quest – Hawkeye Season 2 – Thor 5 | Barside Buzz

Welcome to another Marvel rumor roundup, this week featuring Barside Buzz on Vision Quest, Hawkeye Season 2, Thor 5 and X-Men. Let’s go in order, so we begin with Vision Quest. I use the title Vision Quest, but the source here, Jeff Sneider does not, instead referring to as simply Vision. Since Vision Quest was the only title we ever heard from someone at Marvel, I’m going to keep using it until we get an official new title. Which, I do think is coming.

Anyhoo, Sneider in his The Insneider newsletter claims that Vision Quest will be the last MCU TV series to feature the major actors from the movies.

Now, this makes sense and connects in a way to the second rumor below. We know that Marvel tried the ‘six hour movie format’ and it simply didn’t work and cost a fortune. The new plan is to make TV series in a more traditional sense which have multiple seasons and run for years. It remains to be see where the likes of Wonder Man falls, but we know Daredevil: Born Again is the first of these new ‘TV series’. Before Born Again Season 1 had even aired, production had begun on Season 2 due next year.

Hawkeye Season 2

Now onto some Hawkeye Season 2 rumors and this again comes from Jeff in his newsletter. However, this time he is not alone and Puck‘s Matt Belloni is saying the exact same thing. They’re hearing this somewhere, that’s for sure.

We know Jeremy Renner rejected the offer to return for Season 2 because Marvel were only willing to pay half his Season 1 fee. Well both Jeff and Matt are saying this was a deliberate tactic from Disney, because they don’t want to make a Hawkeye Season 2. I assume, because of the rumors above, about not using the big movie stars. Perhaps Marvel are planning a Kate Bishop series instead? Perhaps they will keep Hawkeye and Bishop for the movies? I guess we will find out.  I mean, why not just make a Hawkeye and Bishop movie with the idea behind Season 2?

Thor 5 and X-Men Reboot

We also have a Thor 5 rumor from MTTSH. I stopped covering this insider due to her hit rate tanking over the last year. However, credit where it’s due her hit rate has shot up in the last month or so, beating the trades to several big stories. I may be selective on which of her scoops I’ll cover, but I will start covering them again for now.

I think the lack of Taika will shock absolutley no one. Hemsworth himself wasn’t too happy with how Love and Thunder played out. I will forever remain one of that movie’s fans myself though. People just didn’t get it. However, I have no comments on Hargrave having not seen Extraction. It’s really not my kind of movie, at least not at this stage of my life. I’d have been all over it as a kid.

Finally, another rumor, also from Jeff related to the upcoming X-Men Reboot. Jeff has heard that actress Trinity Jo-Li Bliss is in the mix for the role of Jubilee for Marvel Studios X-Men Reboot. 

Again, this makes sense based on what we know. Namely that the casting process has begun for this X-Men Reboot and it’s planned to hot probably just after Secret Wars.
