“Ted” Animated Series In The Works

Peacock has given a green light for an animated TV series based on Seth MacFarlane’s “Ted” comedy franchise.

The series will follow on from the two movies and Peacock prequel series, all of which were live-action. That prequel series premiered in January last year and has been renewed for a second season.

In the animated series, MacFarlane will continue to provide the voice of talking teddy bear Ted. Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried and Jessica Barth will also reprise their roles from the “Ted” movies along with Kyle Mooney and Liz Richman.

The show will be set after the events of “Ted 2” and thus shouldn’t hit any continuity issues. The animated series hails from Universal Studio Group’s UCP, MRC and MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door Productions.

Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh will serve as showrunners and executive produce with MacFarlane, Erica Huggins, Alana Kleiman, Jason Clark, Aimee Carlson of Fuzzy Door and Claudia Katz.

The first season scored mixed reviews, but within three days became the most-watched original title on Peacock.
