The first footage from the highly anticipated “Tron: Ares” has been released online. The short clip touts the online release of the first trailer from the film tomorrow.
The trailer follows in the wake of the buzz generated by a five-minute sneak peek of the film shared with exhibitors at the CinemaCon event in Las Vegas on Thursday afternoon.
Previously, rough camcorded footage from the film shown off during the D23 event last year went online and was quickly pulled.
Shot in Vancouver throughout the first half of 2024, the story follows a highly sophisticated program names Ares (Jared Leto) who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.
Gillian Anderson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, and Cameron Monaghan co-star in the film which has Nine Inch Nails composing the score.
“TRON: Ares” is set to hit cinemas on October 10th 2025.
